How to ideally groom your English Bulldog

English Bulldogs need low-maintenance grooming.

 

Regular grooming of the dogs includes the following tasks:

  • Check the wrinkles and clean them if need be
  • Cut toenails
  • Bathe approx. every 2 months

 

Most frequent health problems of the English Bulldog:

  • Cherry eye
  • Entropion (folding in of the eyelid)
  • Interdigital eczema
  • Growth disorders up to 12 months
  • Ingrown corkscrew tail

 

Major illnesses to date:

  • E1 litter 1995: 1 completely deaf bitch - lived 8 years
  • F1 litter 1996: deformed spinal column according to owner
  • M1 litter 2000: 1 male dog with heart disease, diagnosed at the age of 7 months. I replaced him.
  • V1 litter 2008: Bone cancer diagnosed on 1 male dog at the age of 7 ½ years
